This is a fun little creation I came up with because I wanted something cute and different, my fiancee's mother came out of hospital today after having a procedure and will be a bit sore and sorry for herself so I wanted a little get well gift to give to her this evening when we go and visit. She's a little flower girl. I found by accident when you turn them over they actually do look like flowers! so I colored the bottom with the same locks that I used for her hair. Originally the posy holder was going to be the hat but I thought it was more original if I used it as said posy holder. I hope you like her.
This is Gatsby a baby giraffe that is a joint needle felted project by my other half and I so he isn't up for sale. He's very cute, I did the hard parts lol needle felting over the wire, and he did the decorations. So we figured he actually looks better sitting down even though he can be moved gently.
I've always loved birds and Eagles are a breed I've always admired, so I needle felted one. I think he came out quite well and the photos make me happy cause I can see I'm getting better. I used an interesting wool that I've never used before and its quite decent to work with. Welsh mountain sheep wool roving, it seems longer in staple so it felts similar to alpaca but without that greasy feel alpaca seems to have or what I've found anyways. Its a lovely natural color too being undyed, the brown I used and other colors are merino.
This is Tulip she is a needle felted bear, her dress is made by needle felting a flat piece of batting and wrapping it around her, and needling it to secure. Her bodice is made of yarn and is needle felted firmly. She stands at about 5 or 6 inches tall and an announcement I am now selling on artfire! do come and check out my shop artfire is a friendly community and I'm getting to know it.
This is little Emily, she's a little blond doll I finished making this morning in the style that Gina was made in but more childlike and smaller. She also has her playful kitty with her too!
This is Gina, she's a doll I created last night, she's made from corriedale and merino mixed wool. She is jointed by needle felting so no thread joining. She wears a belt of blue wool in a shade similar to her arms and legs. I love how her face came out. I've always struggled with doing cute faces but I think I've got it with Gina.
This is a character my other half did lol he's somewhat getting into needle felting himself when he's bored of other things. He says he's retired of needle felting but I wonder if he's secretly hooked haha he wouldn't admit it of course, this creature is crossed between a duck and a bat, he has an egg tooth, and I love his wings we're still trying to think of what to call him.
This is a geisha girl I needle felted for a friend of mine who lives in Chicago, She also likes anime things so I thought the geisha girl was cute. I got the instructions for her from Laurie Sharps book Needle felted toys and friends. It's a great book! I did change it up a little cause that's what I'm like lol
