Ducky for ava

This is showing my online geekery I'm a member of a site called avariciarpg and its a roleplaying site with avatars, you can dress up a character that represents yourself lol anyways the site has a mascot and I loved it for ages so I needle felted one! here is Ducky. The drawing of Ducky is created by the owner of the site, so I hope I did a good enough job.

Ooak needle felted Rocking reindeer

I have always loved rocking horses and this is how this needle felted rocking reindeer was created! I also put a red nose on him due to it being nearly Christmas and all haha. He stands at about 2 and a half inches and he rocks literally like a rocking horse, I created him out of alpaca fiber as I find it stronger.

Its raining cats and dogs

It's raining cats and dogs here at Indiebunnie lol I had to try three times to make a cat I was happy with. It's my first sale through my fiancee's mother as she put me onto a friend of her's who is a cat lover and has three cats of her own I believe. The first one I did I didn't like the color, that's the one hidden with the orange stripes tabby looking thing. Then was the standing gray kitten and it is cute but it wasn't realistic enough and the one I am happy with is the one in the front, its made from undyed alpaca blend and it seems that if you want a realistic looking color the natural ones seem to work best.

This dog here was actually starting out as a bear but I wanted him to be different, I was also running out of the fakland wool I was using so I had to mix it up a little lol I think he turned out quite cute.

orc the needle felted troll

This is Orc he's a needle felted troll, using merino wool roving, and you can move him gently as he's needle felted so he acts as if he's jointed. He lives at the bottom of the garden where the swamp is but he is sad because he loves company however his orange skin scares people away. His favorite places to be are book shelves, kitchen counters and window ledges basking in the sun.

Needle felted bear

This is a needle felted bear I've created I got the book Needle felting magic making beautiful bears the other day by Barbara Allen. It's more the size of a booklet only 50 something pages I believe. But its very informative with excellent photos and charming bears that will inspire you to follow the instructions. I made my first thread jointed bear and here she is. Buttons are for decoration purposes as I have seen similar looks with jointed bears. I think she's come out quite cute though I haven't named her yet. She is needle felted in merino wool roving and is fully jointed, even her head moves.

Halloween contests stuff's

I entered a little contest that one of my favorite types of websites hosted ^^ I am a self confessed avatar site addict and online geek and as such entered the crafts Halloween contest. The theme was Halloween war, the sign is to prove I am the one who created the entry. Entitled War on the mice, I wet felted the little pumpkin home and needle felted the owl and the mouse. The owl was from the same critter I created earlier in the blog lol I thought Mice and owls don't like each other and the theme should work. The knife is obviously the weapon and the red material is meant to indicate blood.

Hope its scary enough for the contest ^^

Bunting time made with love

what's this you ask? its a wet and needle felted bunting of course! I've been seeing them around a lot lately, they must be the new old thing that's come back in fashion and why not? their very cute! who knew I loved nautical? I don't really but red, blue and white do go together well and I love spots.

Made with merino roving this was an experiment and I think I've got the process down at least so I'm reasonably happy with it.

Pixie Elf

This is a little Pixie elf and Rooster I have created, they are the best of friends
and are needle felted using mainly merino roving. The pixie elf is felted over wire
she is a beautiful teal color though for me its rather hard to photograph well. The rooster is only soft sculptured so is not hard felted but the Pixie Elf is more durable and loves to have a giggle.

Owl Plush Toy

So I'm a reader of Felt me up design as their birds are very cute and when I read that
they were going to be featured in Sew hip magazine I had to grab a copy but I had to buy a backissue from ebay but I finally got it and here are my results so far from it as I'm still finishing the rest of the mobile.

I also taught my fiancee to needle felt today which is funny he's always liked what I've shown him but he's never shown interest in wanting to learn how it works but he tried today and made changes to my owl I'll show you the examples
my fiancee hard at work he's quite shy with photos lol

my example

Here is my finished owl with my fiancee's work done to it, he added more white on its chest, added eye brows and changed the shape of the nose. I didn't have craft wire so used pipe cleaners instead which worked just as well I think. I also changed the spots on his belly and for my first attempt at these owls I'm very happy!
